I think you'll find it in your game folder - GalCiv2\Mods\Example

Thanks for the link Publius, however it doesn't appear to be listed, nor can I find it in the GalCivII Library.

MarvinKosh, you are right it was in there, but I corrupted my installation of it while trying to make a total conversion mod, and stupidly I didn't make a back-up.

I found a copy of the mod in the folder MarvinKosh pointed to, zipped the whole "Example" folder, and put the zip file here.

Publius, thank you very much, that is a great help and I can get beck to modding again - with a back-up this time.
